Your mission
As a Senior Electric Propulsion Lab Engineer (all genders), you will play a crucial role in developing, realizing, and operating laboratories for our electric propulsion system and its main components. You will be a core member of our technology team in our premises in the Munich area, Germany. - Electric Propulsion Laboratory Realization
- Design, develop and implement laboratories for the purpose of validation and verification of electrical propulsion systems and their subsystems, e.g. propulsion batteries, electric drives.
- Specify and plan test benches, test equipment and associated facilities according to the test plans of the test engineer(s) and design engineer(s).
- Identify and contract suitable internal and external test facilities to conduct test campaigns as defined in the test strategy and test plans.
- Lead the mechanical, electrical, thermal layout of the test benches, as well as their implementation and validation.
- Lead the instrumentation, data acquisition, data storage, postprocessing layout of the test benches, as well as their implementation and validation.
- Manage external suppliers, trades, logistics, and other third parties.
- Ensure maximum representativeness of the test facilities according to the system requirements and test plans.
- Ensure and lead the continuous operation of the test facilities to conduct planned test campaigns.
- Support of electric propulsion test campaigns under the lead of the Test Engineer(s).
- Implement measures for maximum availability, effective problem reporting and analysis, and performance KPI’s.
- Lab Responsible and Work Safety Delegate
- Act as the laboratory and test bench responsible.
- Lead the specification and implementation of the safety system and procedures.
- Act as a work safety delegate and participate in the occupational health and safety committee
- Support the development and implementation of hazard analyses and operating instructions in close collaboration with the occupational health specialist
- Support the development of test plans and test reports.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including test engineers, qualified electricians and work safety bodies, to ensure occupational health and safety, test readiness and valid results on time, budget, quality.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on testing best practices and standards compliance.
- Participate in design and test reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
